સને ૧૯૫૨નું ઐતિહાસિક જળ સંકટ અને સિહોરની વહારે મુંબઈ મંડળ
સને ૧૯૫૨માં સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં પાણીની તીવ્ર અછત સર્જાઈ. તે સમયે પાણી પુરવઠાનો ઉપયોગ ભાવનગર શહેર માટે કરવાનો નિર્ણય થતાં સિહોરની જનતામાં ઉગ્ર રોષની લાગણી જન્મી. આ કપરા સમયે મુંબઈ સ્થિત સિહોરી વતનપ્રેમીઓનું એક પ્રતિનિધિ મંડળ સત્વરે સિહોરની વહારે પહોંચ્યું અને સત્તાવાળાઓ સમક્ષ ઉગ્ર રજૂઆત કરી. પરિણામ સ્વરૂપ—સિહોરની જરૂરિયાત સંતોષાયા બાદ જ વધારાનું પાણી ભાવનગરને અપાશે તેવો ન્યાયી નિર્ણય લેવાયો.
આ ઐતિહાસિક સફળ બનાવમાંથી પ્રેરણા મળી કે સિહોર વતનીઓમાં એકાત્મતાભાવ, બંધુભાવ અને એકબીજાના સુખદુઃખમાં સહભાગી થઈ યથાશક્તિ સેવા કરવાનો કાયમી અવસર પ્રાપ્ત થાય તે માટે એક સંગઠન હોવું અનિવાર્ય છે. આ ઉમદા ભાવના સાથે શ્રી સિહોર મિત્ર મંડળ મુંબઈની સ્થાપના થઈ.

The Historic 1952 Water Crisis & Timely Intervention
In 1952, during a period of severe water shortage in Saurashtra, regional water-supply resources were being diverted and utilized primarily for the city of Bhavnagar. This created deep resentment among the residents of Sihor. Patriotic natives of Sihor residing in Mumbai immediately stepped forward with a high-level representative delegation, rushing to Sihor and strongly advocating the rights of their hometown. As a direct result, a just and equitable decision was achieved: Bhavnagar would receive only the additional surplus water after fulfilling Sihor's primary needs.
This landmark achievement became an enduring inspiration. It ignited feelings of profound unity, fraternal brotherhood, and mutual support in times of joy and hardship, motivating leaders to establish a permanent platform to serve their ancestral land with all their might.
